SILVER DIAL
A watchmakingtechnique
The sunray finish creates delicate light reflections onmany dials in the Oyster Perpetual collection. lt isobtained using masterful brushing techniques that creategrooves running outwards from the centre of the dial.
Light is diffused consistently along each engraving.creating a characteristic subtle glow that movesdepending on the position of the wrist. Once the sunrayfinish has been completed, the dial colour is appliedusing Physical Vapour Deposition or electroplating.Alight coat of varnish gives the dial its final look.
OYSTERSTEEL
Highly resistant toCorrosion
Rolex uses Oystersteel for its steel watch cases.
Specially developed by the brand, Oystersteel belongs tothe 904L steel family, alloys most commonly used inhigh-technology and in the aerospace and chemicaindustries, where maximum resistance to corrosion isessential.
Oystersteel is extremely resistant, offers an exceptionalfinish once polished and maintains its beauty even in theharshest environments.
